The growth of our economy is based on one key assumption:
That energy is going to be cheap and abundant!
Today, scientific data suggests that this assumption is fundamentally flawed and that an impending energy shortage in the second decade of this millenium can have devestating effects on our National Security, domestic and global economies, and our way of life. The United States economy is one of the most vulnerable as nearly 60% of our oil in the United States is imported.
Yet where there are challenges, there are opportunities. To see and take advantage of the many new exciting opportunities that are available to us today, we must recognize that we are entering a new era. We must transform and expand our vision and take into account the full impact of the challenges we are facing - challenges that have the potential to escalate into global resource wars, undermined civilizations, and strained relations between governments in ways that we have not seen in decades.
